Engraving and enamel on board. Signature and date on the back. Carrega was a poet and artist from Genoa but active mostly in Milan, one of the main exponents of the visual poetry even if he prefered to call it "New Writing" that is an experimental writing that puts together different signs of extraction. He also founded in 1965 the magazine "Tool: symbolic writing notebooks" that is an experimental poetry in which signs of differen nature, oral and graphic, act equally. The piece in question is an example of that idea of art.

Artist: Ugo Carrega (1935-2014)

Ugo Carrega was born in Genoa Pegli 17 August 1935. He attended the state secondary schools of Genoa Pegli and the gymnasium to Genova Cornigliano by the Piarists. Repeat the 5th Gymnasium of the Piarists, but boarder at Ovada. Back to Calasanz of Cornigliano, but leave the "ring" in the middle of the first classic high school before being expelled for "heresy". At the behest of the family tries privately to other studies in private schools: accountancy, surveyors, nautical. The last attempt of the school will be three-years-in-one classic school at a private school: the a few days to understand that they definitely do not possess the fabric of the student and seriousness in the profession of living permanently abandon their studies.
