Description : I giganti del mio passato

Oil on canvas. Signature, date and title on the back. Benedetto di Francesco was a sicilian artist settled in Marche that followeed the pictorial tendency of " back to concrete" that played with irony. He sid about his paintings: Looking at my paintings you can get two different styles: one purly formal and than attention to large format, to the perspective angles, to the strong chromatism and to the immediate reading, giving life to "the descriptive power of images"; the secondi one gives attention to a more visionary contemplation related to dreamlike feelings, ironical stories and grotesque lines that are apparently static but actually full of life and than worthy of reflection. Both these styles can be recognized in this painting.
