The "Zwiebelmuster" or "Blue Onion", commonly known as "Onion Decoration" had become symbol of the Meissen Manufacture. The tray is painted with cobalt blue flowers, trees and strongly sketched fruits. The eldest piece made by meissen with this decoration, inspired by the chinese drawing from the Kangxi era is dated back to 1739 and it was painted by Hoeroldt.
