Massimo Vignelli (Milan, January 10, 1931 - New York, May 27, 2014) is an Italian designer and architect. During his long career, always flanked by his wife Lella, Massimo Vignelli has dealt with various branches of design. His production ranges from graphic design (the area in which he will be most prolific), to furniture design to the design of environments, exhibitions, interiors and even a clothing line. In graphic design he is now recognized as one of the most important living masters, having taken care of the image of several of the most important companies in the world, an example above all of the brand identity for American Airlines, designed in 1967 and still in use today. Furthermore, starting from the sixties, he was one of the main architects of the renewal of Italian graphics. Characteristic of Vignelli's thought is his motto, 'Design is One'. According to Vignelli, in fact, design is a single discipline and if you are able to design one thing, then you can design everything. -Production: Italiana
