Description : Santa Apollonia
Oil on canvas. Northern Italy School. The martyr saint holds in one hand pincers with a tooth, in memory of the martyrdom she was subjected to, of which the palm she holds in the other hand is a symbol. Apollonia, who lived in Alexandria in Egypt in the 3rd century AD, is considered the patron saint of dentists and dental technicians. On the back there is a non-validated attribution. The painting, restored and relined, is presented in a frame in style.
