Description
Brass theodolite with compass, telescopic sight and spirit level, marked 'Troughton London'. Edward Troughton was one of the best manufacturers of scientific, navigational, surveying and astronomical instruments. Following the death of his eldest brother and partner, he took over from William Simms in 1826 and the name of the firm changed to Troughton & Simms.

The item shows signs of wear due to age. Any damage or loss is displayed as completely as possible in the pictures. It may require restoration and recovery of french polish. Product with a Certificate of Authenticity and Lawful Origin.
