Description:
Pair of Lombard neoclassical chest of drawers, supported by truncated pyramidal feet connected to the lower band by a small shelf, on the front, they have two drawers and a smaller one placed under the top. Walnut veneer, they have edges in olive and maple threads; they are decorated with inlays in maple and stucco, with phytomorphic motifs and, in the centre of the front, with a large central rose window supported by two mermaids; there are some inlaid rose windows on the sides as well. Fir interiors, bronze vents and handles, the grey stain marble tops have been restored.

The item shows signs of wear due to age. Any damage or loss is displayed as completely as possible in the pictures. It may require restoration and recovery of french polish. Product with a Certificate of Authenticity and Lawful Origin.

Questo periodo storico comprende una prima fase propriamente definibile di Stile Luigi XVI. Solo in un secondo momento, con il maturare delle mode archeologiche, si formula e si codifica una nuova visione della civiltà d'arredo, ora compiutamente ascrivibile allo Stile Neoclassico. Nei fatti, entrambe le tendenze convivono all'unisono fino agli ultimi anni del Settecento. A pieno titolo, in ambito di ebanisteria, rientrano nell'epoca neoclassica anche gli stili Direttorio, Retour d'Egypte, Consolare e Impero.
