Description : Due paesaggi montani
Oil on plywood. Both signed at the bottom. On the back there is another signature with titles that identify the painted places and dates, The bigger one (44x34cm) from 1947, represents Cordevole Valley (Belluno); the other one (39.5x35cm) from 1962, represents The Grignetta from Pian Dei Resinelli. Although Giuseppe Valsecchi, an artist from Lecco, shared the human and social commitment of the Milanese Corrente movement (to which artists such as Guttuso, Treccani and Sassu adhered), he did not neglect a more highly evocative and intimist vein that can be seen in his portraits and landscapes, inspired by views from the windows of his homes.
