Description

Wooden travel trunk covered with iron sheet bands fixed with studs. The metal strips are adorned with a decoration of plant racemes with flowers, made by burin. The reserves between the metal plates are covered in red velvet, now abraded, decorated with a quadrangular motif with foil.

Product Condition:
The item shows signs of wear due to age. Any damage or loss is displayed as completely as possible in the pictures. It may require restoration and recovery of french polish.

Style: In the style of the Renaissance

Referring to all the furniture and objects which, for their characteristics reminiscent of the trends and the style in vogue during the renaissance. During the Renaissance some of the furniture in the homes of the noble and rich, assume greater importance with the addition of increases and canopies closed with curtains and fabrics. In public and religious buildings, the banks, the libraries, the stalls and the wooden choir stalls are the most impressive, inlaid and decorated. This style is developed initially in Italy, where artists are inspired by the classical sources, to Rome and its remains; only after the new culture will expand in Europe, through the wars carried on by Louis XII and Francis I. Subsequently, such a trend will be present in the Kingdom of Naples and Sicily, in Spain, in Flanders, in Germany and England. - Shooting style, the 900, which refers to the stylistic canons of the Renaissance (1460-1630)
