Description : La deposizione di Cristo

Oil painting on canvas. Northern Italy. Of great movement, with numerous figures around the lifeless body of Jesus, which stands out in its contrasting whiteness with the bright colors of the characters' robes; in the background on the right the figure of Mary who assists gathered in her grief. The figures are blurred in the outlines and little outlined in the somatic features. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a gilded frame from the end of the 19th century which has been adapted.
