Oil on cardboard. Signed lower right. On the back there is a cartouche of the author with authentication, title and date; also declared exhibition of the work at the Angelicum in the period 1948-1949. Born in Ponte San Petro and artistically trained at the Carrara Academy in Bergamo, from 1922 Vanni Rossi began to devote himself to frescoes, working in numerous Lombard churches, without disdaining oil painting as well. In 1926 he exhibited his works in the first personal exhibition, set up at the Pinacoteca di Brera, the first of a long series. From 1921 to 1945 he devoted himself to the creation of 125 Bible-inspired plates, illustrating the Old Testament. In addition to religious subjects, his production also includes landscapes and glimpses. The work is presented in a frame.
