Description : Ritratto di nobiluomo
Oil painting on canvas. Bergamo school. The name "Orazio Bonduri" is engraved on the back of the frame, confirmed by a paper label, which would lead to a member of the Bonduri family from Gandino (a small town in the Bergamo area), well-known entrepreneurs in the wool sector. The gentleman is represented according to a recurring style in portrait painting in the Bergamo area (think of Ceruti or Fra 'Galgario), who loved to emphasize the materiality and harsh reality of the characters. Here too, despite the high social level of man, the characters of the face and the pose of the hand show a very crude reference to the clothing. The work, on the first canvas, has several holes and falls of color. It is presented in a contemporary relacquered frame.
