Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. Alfio Paolo Graziani, who trained at the Brera Academy with Cesare Tallone, distinguished himself above all for the production of lively fresh floral compositions; he also painted portraits, pictures of figures and cityscapes. The painting features a large bouquet of red roses in a vase, accompanied by a smaller vase of violets. Presented in a late 19th century frame.

Artist: Alfio Paolo Graziani (1900-1981)

Born in Roncoferraro (Mantova) in 1900, Alfio Paolo Graziani then studied at the Brera Academy with Cesare Tallone and Ambrogio Alciati. He devoted himself to landscapes, floral compositions, but also to portraits, figure paintings and urban landscapes. Graziani participated in various regional and interregional exhibitions, in various editions of the Venice Biennale in the period before the Second World War, as well as in the first edition of the Quadriennale di Arte Nazionale in Rome in 1939, and then in the subsequent ones up to 1943. Graziani lived in Gavirate (Varese) until his death in 1981.
