Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower right. Three hunted ducks hang by the neck on a window shutter. Augusto Antonio Ferri was an Italian set designer and painter. He first followed in his father 's footsteps and after him obtained the post at the Théâtre Italien in Paris in 1851. Moving to Madrid in 1857 in the company of two other painters, he soon became the most admired set designer in Spain. Thanks to an extensive renovation, he brought the Spanish theater to a European level. In 1870 he left Spain and, after collaborating with his father for a few years, in 1875 he retired to Bologna, devoting himself exclusively to painting. His pictorial production contemplates mote still lifes in bright colors, certainly influenced in the cut and in the shots by his training as a set designer. The painting is presented in a contemporary frame.
