Description : Natura morta

Oil painting on canvas. Signed and dated in the lower right corner. Additional signature, date and title on the back; also present stamps of the Russian art gallery. Composition of bottles and goblets, which stand out against a two-tone background, with warm yet opaque colors. Born and artistically trained in Florence, Ugo Vittore Bartolini moved to Milan in 1934, or having obtained the chair of drawn figure at the Art School of the Brera Academy. In the following years he participated in numerous national reviews and exhibitions, including several times at the Venice Biennale. If starting from the thirties he established himself above all as a landscape painter, from the second post-war period Bartolini decidedly approached sacred subjects, but he also created series of female nudes and still lifes. His style is simple and communicative, his paintings have a warm and refined chromatism. The work is presented in a style frame.

Artist: Ugo Vittore Bartolini (1906-1975)

Born in Florence in 1906, Ugo Vittore Bartolini began his studies at the Professional School of Decorative Arts of Santa Croce, then the Florence Art Institute, having the painter Aldo Carpi and the sculptor Libero Andreotti as teachers. In 1934, through competition, he was nominated for the chair of drawn figure at the Art School of the Brera Academy in Milan, where he moved. In 1936 he was invited to the XXth Venice Biennale of Art and his presence, always by invitation, would be repeated in the subsequent biennials of 1938 and 1940. In the following years he participated by invitation in the most important National Exhibitions. In 1958 he was awarded the Gold Medal at the 1st Prize of the Artistic Family and the following year he was again awarded the Gold Medal by the President of the Republic. In 1966 he was awarded the "Arturo Tosi" Prize at the Lombard National Painting Exhibition dedicated to Still Life. In 1974 he ordered his last personal exhibition in Milan at the Galleria Ponte Rosso. He died in Milan on February 11, 1975.
