Notes historical bibliographic

The ceramic manufacture "Ceramiche Luca della Robbia" was founded in Gualdo Tadino, in the province of Perugia, in 1925 by some entrepreneurs. The production of the first period is limited to the creation of ceramics in the traditional Gualdese style and copies from the antique. In the first years of activity of the company, among the collaborators we find Archimede Discepoli. In 1938 the corporate structure changed and the new name was "Società Luca della Robbia". Among the collaborators who have been working since the years preceding the Second World War are: Aldo Ajò, Giuseppe Pericoli, Otello Frillici, Antonio Piermatteo, Renzo Megni, Giovanni Marini, Sirio Storelli and Flavio Gubbini. In 1942 Leoncillo also collaborated with the company. After the war, the factory, based in via Imbriani 41 in Gualdo Tadino, combined traditional production with the creation of modern ceramics, decorative tiles and wall panels. From these years we remember the collaboration of Fulvio Fabbri, who worked with the company between 1945 and 1950. In 1975 the manufacture was sold to "Ceramiche di Montelupo".
