Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower right. On the back there is the cartouche of the Esedra art gallery in Rome, with the data of the work (title, date, measurements). The painter of Sicilian origins Antonio Pecoraro preferred figurative subjects, drawing on the realistic nineteenth-century currents that made subjects of everyday life, themes of the same importance as historical or religious ones. His representations of busy peasant girls in the fields, or Parisians in the park are famous, scenes always appreciated by both the public and critics. Of a naturalist nature, however, an impressionist imprint is found in his brushstrokes, especially in the nuanced atmospheres. The painting is presented in a styled frame.

Antonio Pecoraro, known as Antonino, is a painter of Sicilian origins born in 1938. His painting career took place mainly in Naples. Pecoraro is distinguished by an excellent production of genre scenes, both of rural and bourgeois settings, in which he develops his extraordinary technique of post-impressionist derivation.
