Description

Chestnut sideboard, Italy, late 19th century. Upper compartment accessible from the top, pair of doors on the front decorated with octagonal frames, turned knobs, wavy apron. Interior in conifer and chestnut wood.

It is a hard, yellow-white wood, mostly used for rustic furniture. Since the Middle Ages it has been used in Europe, mainly in Spain, France and Italy.
