Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower right. On the reverse this label of the Bongiovanni Art Gallery (site of his permanent exhibition for many years), with the title and the note of exhibition at the Manzoni Gallery in Milan in 1978. Curandai distinguished himself mainly as a landscape painter, a lover of magical atmospheres of the skies, the hills, the domestic animals, the Tuscan farmhouses that take us back to an ancient time, the rural and sharecropping one, ours until a few decades ago, which is inevitably disappearing. Here is a glimpse of Comacchio, depicted in its daily life, with the streets along the canal populated by moving figures. The work is presented in a period frame.

Artist: Osvaldo Curandai (1931-2019)
Osvaldo Curandai was born in 1931 in Florence, but lived and worked in San Donato, between Bagno a Ripoli and Rignano sull'Arno. The passion for drawing and painting has been present since his childhood, a period in which every piece of paper is good for making a work of art. He continues as self-taught until he meets the master Giuseppe Mazzon who leads him to explore oil painting in the open air, where his extraordinary talent is immediately combined with a magnificent and personal technique. Predominantly a landscape painter, Curandai also proves to be skilled in the compositions of flowers, fruits and objects. In his very long career he has exhibited in Bologna, Riccione, Faenza, Pontecchio Marconi, Cortina, Milan, Reggio Emilia, etc.. For many years he was on permanent display at the prestigious Bongiovanni gallery in Bologna. His works are in very important collections all over the world, from the United States to the former USSR, from Luxembourg to Saudi Arabia.Age:
