Oil painting on canvas. Central European school of the eighteenth century. Under a blue sky, a large, rather barren landscape is depicted, with the edge of a wood opening onto a rocky valley, with a river flowing between the rocks and snow-capped peaks in the background; in the foreground, scattered, some figures of shepherds with their flocks. On the stretcher at the back of the work, a cartouche refers to Poussin, the artist representing seventeenth-century classicism whose pictorial methods inspired the author of the painting. The painting, relined, is presented in a period frame.

Oil painting on canvas. Scene taken in reverse and with different variations in the background and in some details, from the work of Pieter Van Avont (1600 -1652), probably disseminated through engravings. This sacred subject was widely proposed in pictorial production, as an emblem of the Family, a fundamental model of the bonds of affection, love and understanding that every human family is called to express. Also in this representation the parental tenderness, the affections of the extended family in the figure of the little cousin Giovanni, the serene relationships between the children, watched over by the adults, transpire. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a 19th century frame.
Oil on paper applied to canvas. The four works propose pastoral subjects, animated by shepherds with their herds and their faithful dogs, sometimes at rest on the side of the road, in two scenes also flanked by fruit sellers. The works are inspired (as well as by the citation on the back of one of them) by the production of Francesco Londonio, the Milanese artist of the 18th century who made a name for himself for his rural and pastoral scenes, in a repertoire of tasty snapshots of peasant life. The four paintings are presented in contemporary gilded frames, with small defects.
Oil on canvas. Mittel-European School. There is a No.S monogram on the back and numbers probably from an inventory. The painting reminds of pieces from the Austrian area. It represents a battle between knights, it is dominated in the foreground by the confrontation between two of them. The painting comes from a historical collection from Lombardy. The painting is still in its first canvas and original framing; there are patches on the back and signs of antique restorations, it has also undergone an additional pictorial and reperativr restoration, in our lab. Well marked crack. The painting is presented in an original and coeval frame, lacquered.

Family portrait of three girls, whose marked resemblance in facial features, smile and witty and mischievous gaze, is underlined by the almost identical clothes they wear, whose bright colors enliven the scene and on which the laces of the necklines stand out, exquisitely painted; the youngest in the center, still a child, has a slightly less worked dress and a less elaborate hairstyle, in keeping with her age. The painting is presented in a late 19th century frame that has been adapted and regilded.
Oil painting on canvas. In a rather barren and rocky landscape, near a thin stream, a herd of goats grazes: in the foreground, to dominate the scene, some goats, still and statuesque. The work imitates in the style of the subject the production of Philipp Peter Roos, known as Rosa da Tivoli (1655 -1706), who stood out for his interest in the depiction of animals portrayed from life, in particular for the large production of scenes pastorals with flocks, characterized by the earthy colour. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a late 19th - early 20th century frame.

Epilogue of the great battles between Alexander the Great and the Persian king, the depicted scene told by Plutarch is about a riot which started among the Persian lines before Alexander's constant advance. Darius' trusted men took him as prisoner and stabbed him while the Greek army was approaching. Darius didn't make it to see the rival conqueror, but before dying he met with Polistrato, a Greek soldier who came at his bedside and gave him some water. Darius asked him for kindness and mercy for his family and his remains. Restored and relined, it is presented in a frame. Good condition. Late 1800s-Early 1900s.

The scene opens on a large northern landscape, at night: in it various families of shepherds lie asleep with their animals; a light-flooded gash is opened in the sky, from which the announcing angels look out. The reference to the evangelical moment of the announcement of the birth of Jesus by the angels to the shepherds of Bethlehem is therefore evident, albeit placed in a European setting. Intense play of golden light that illuminates the figures enveloped in the darkness of the night, in particular the flock in the foreground in the center, and its shepherd who on the right turns his face upwards in a direct line that joins up with the arm of the angel projecting towards the earth. Already restored and relined, the painting has some dirt spots that need cleaning. It is presented in a gilded frame from the end of the 19th century.
Oil on the table. Northern European school of the 16th-17th century. According to traditional iconography, the saint is portrayed as he meditates alone, in an open place, reading the Bible, in front of the Crucifix, with the skull beside him; however, instead of a desert, the scene is placed in a Nordic landscape, rich in vegetation, with an architectural structure in the background on the left. also characteristic of northern Europe. The work is presented in a wooden case frame, with an enlarged base, in style.

The scene depicts a chamber concert: in the centre, the spinet player, behind him the recorder player and on the right side the maestro who conducts, who listens intently and moves his right hand to accompany the musical movements; behind the trio, ladies and gentlemen listen smiling and participating. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a 19th century frame.

The canvas recounts the miracle of Soriano: in this village of Calabria, the Madonna with Mary Magdalene (recognizable by the ointment jar) and Catherine of Alexandria (carrying the palm of martyrdom), would appear in 1530 to a young Dominican, to give him an image of San Domenico to be placed in the convent he built. A beautiful version of the painting is that of Grechetto, from 1654-1655, preserved in Genoa: ours seems to be inspired by this work, which re-proposes the tense composition of the figures. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a period frame.

The mythological subject that portrays together the two divinities, symbol of profane love, has been amply illustrated in art: as in this work, Venus is usually depicted in a languid attitude, while exhibiting her naked Beauty; Cupid, dressed as a winged putto, is intent on extracting from the quiver one of his darts which induce falling in love, one of which is already stuck in the trunk behind the goddess. In the background an Italian landscape, with a small architectural structure. The shape of the painting refers to an original shaped frame. Restored and relined, the painting is currently presented in a period frame.

An elegant porcelein centerpiece manufactured by Nanni Valentini in the late 1960s, with dark green decorations. Under the basement the manufacturer's trademark and a paper label are present. 'Arcore Ceramica' was founded in 1967 by Marco and Tina Terenzi, wife of the sculptor and ceramist Nanni Valentini. The object is coming from an important private collection in Milan.
