Paris, Early XIX Century

Group of four Empire candlesticks in gilded bronze and burnished bronze, Paris, early 19th century. Vase-shaped holder with pods in the lower section, faceted quiver shaft ending with a trio of claw feet, circular support base. The gilded bronze parts are finely chiseled, decorated with various types of frets including foliaceous frets. The group of candlesticks described here is a close variant of a model created by André Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814) around 1808 and supplied in several examples for the imperial furnishings of the Château de Fontainebleau. Ravrio was one of the most talented French bronze workers of the early 19th century, together with Claude Galle and Thomire, being supplier to Emperor Napoleon. His adopted son, Louis-Stanislas Lenoir-Ravrio (1783-1846), who like his father was one of the main bronzesmiths of his time, also worked in André's workshop. The two worked together from 1811, the year in which Louis officially became a collaborator, until 1814, the year of his father's death, continuing the activity until 1840.

French neoclassical chest of drawers inlaid with breccia top, front with 2 drawers, front and sides inlaid with architectural whims enclosed within gilt bronze borders, wavy legs. Entirely decorated with neoclassical gilt bronze elements. Veneered in bois de rose; among the woods used there are palm, maple, green stained maple and boxwood. Interior in oak.

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Pair of Barocchetto Neapolitan sofas, supported by eight curved and carved legs, the under-the-top shaped band is decorated with sun-shaped and rocaille carvings, represented again on the backrest, which is also curved; the armrests are shaped and carved with swirls. Entirely gilded with painted silver leaf, the seating and the raised backrest are padded.

Paris Third Quarter of the 19th Century

Napoleon III two-door sideboard, made by the cabinetmaker Georges-Alphonse-Bonifacio Monbro. Structure in ebony veneered oak, embellished with semi-precious stones and gilded bronzes. White marble top arranged within the edge, front with two doors decorated with reserves with vases of flowers and fruit made of stones in the centre, uprights at forty-five degrees, bracket feet. The bronzes, chiseled and gilded, portray leafy friezes, phytomorphic elements, godrons, rosettes, masks and volutes. The pilasters of the uprights are also made of gilded bronze, decorated with bunches and grape leaves and culminating with a caryatid and a telamon. Interior doors veneered in mahogany. Stamped in several parts on the hull and on the bronzes. Restorations and replacements.

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Large chest of drawers with barocchetto shelf from Emilia, with the typical curved and rounded on silhouette on the front and on the sides, which can be opened. Supported by curved feet, the under-the-top band is shaped, it has three drawers and two upper ones side by side, under the top. The shelf has a grooved base with a drawer and a smaller drawer on the front: the upper part with glass panels on the front and on the sides used to be a display case for a statue, which originally could only be opened with a door on the back, but it was modified in the 19th century by adding a wooden panel on the back, while a small door and a shelf have been added on the front. Maple burl veneer with walnut edges, the interiors are in poplar, the handles are in bronze with pendants and nozzles with a coat of arms depicting a pair of rampant lions topped by a two-headed eagle with the imperial crown.

Italy, last quarter of the 19th century

Umbertine fusilier in walnut carved on the uprights with zoomorphic heads, Italy, last quarter of the 19th century. Decorated with metal studs and leather inserts fixed on the gun holders, uprights connected by 2 crosspieces carved with mask, coat of arms and spirals.

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Venetian baroque console supported by wavy legs, the apron on the front and sides is carved with characteristic rocaille motifs. In walnut, the shaped top is in alabaster with a border in black marble and white Botticino.

Italy, Late XIX Century

Pair of planters with the features of teardrop consoles, they are supported by curled uprights and carved with neo-baroque leaf motifs, they are entirely gilded.

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Sideboard with a semi-circular front. Supported by four truncated pyramid shaped uprights with vase-shaped feet, it has a narrow under the top drawer in the middle part, while there are two more thin drawers on the sides, under which there are two larger service drawers, on the corners there are two decorated doors that imitate the front of the drawers. Mahogany with mahogany feather banded veneer in the front, with maple and ebony threading, a carved maple reserve decorates the uprights; the drawers and the doors are enriched with an ebony thread on the edges, as well as the border of the mahogany head of the top; the top is a single mahogany board. The handles are gilded bronze pendants with a central rosette. On the back of the top there are inserts for the fastening of the brass beams that were supposed to hold the lights and other service equipment.

Italy, Late XIX Century

Neo-Renaissance showcase in walnut, Italy, late 19th century. Showcase section equipped with a pair of glass doors, lower section with drawer. Richly carved with Renaissance-style elements, such as frets, phytomorphic and leaf elements, masks, cartouches and caryatids. The internal shelves have a Greek motif carved on the front edge. Fir interior. Glasses replaced.

Reggio Emilia, Late XVII Century

Walnut sideboard with front decorated in a band under the top with small architectural shelves, 3 drawers decorated with parallelepiped carvings and 2 doors underneath decorated with geometric carvings typical of the region. On the top there is an owl's beak frame.

Northern Italy, 1877

Steelyard scale in solid iron and bronze with a maximum capacity of 252 kilograms. Graduated rod with square section. It has wrought iron hooks in the shape of fantastic animals, shaped gilt bronze plates and a wrought iron and bronze weight. On the rod and on the weight there is a stamp and engraved brand of the artisan producer. Absence of chains. Coeval fir wooden case.

Italy, Second Quarter XIX Century

Ancient safe from the restoration period with internal walnut structure and iron cladding decorated with studs, Italy second quarter of the 19th century. Front with door decorated with lozenge elements and applied faces in classic bronze style; Steel door lock mechanism embellished with rosettes, leafy frets and engraved phytomorphic elements. Interior equipped with document compartments, six drawers, pair of shaped shelves and compartment located in the lower section, the latter hidden under a folding door with lock. Keys present. Small shortcomings.

China, Late XIX Century

Porcelain stool, richly decorated on the entire surface with a dragon and a phoenix within circular reserves on a continuous background of meanders and frets. Various decorative bands interspersed with reserves with plants and fruit embellish the upper edge and the seat.

Japan XIX Century

Pair of refined candle holders with evocative porcelain subjects mounted on burnished and gilded bronze garden seats. The two "Erxian"brothers of Chinese origin but replicated in the Hirado factories in the 19th century hold candle holders in the form of plants with flowering branches. The bronze settings were most likely made in Europe.

Italy, Last Quarter XVIII Century

Neoclassical mirror in carved and partially lacquered and gilded wood, Lombardy last quarter of the 18th century. Medallion frieze with love knot placed on the top, made with a ribbon and held by a float, and richly carved floral festoons; gilt moldings, mercury mirror. Decorated in the upper part with a cancurrent motif enriched with golden leaf elements, attributable to the iconographic repertoire of Giocondo Albertolli (Bedano 1742–Milan 1839), Swiss-Italian architect, decorator and teacher.

France Mid 1900s

Pair of lamps in cut crystal and bronze with fabric lampshades. Adhesive label of the manufacturer under the base of a lamp.

20th Century / 1901 - 2000

Chandelier in gilded bronze and ground glass. The open cartouche-shaped structure develops through 12 sliding arms with fluted bell-shaped candle holders and corolla-shaped bobeches over pierced acanthus jets, interspersed with 4 amethyst-colored terminals in the shape of an urn. The frame is centered by an urn-shaped column with a pinnacle terminal. Entirely decorated with transparent, amber and amethyst glass pendants, including a faceted sphere pendant. Attributable to Baccarat production.

Parma Mid 18th century

Baroque double body sideboard, supported by carved shelf feet, in the lower part it has four doors with tiles, also in the upper part there are four degrees doors, here decorated with characteristic tiles. Entirely lacquered in blue.
