Oil on canvas. The city gradually destroys the countryside, cropping it in rural waste harmony as the cornfield in this painting, which grows near the railway. In images like this, painted by Taiwo near Bovisa in Milan around 1950, there was the impact of industrial expansion on peasant customs survived in the suburbs. Signed and dated lower left.
