Oil on plywood. The soldier is depicted wearing the uniform of the militia of ancient Rome: its installation - rearward facing with one hand raised in a gesture perhaps of greeting or surprise, the other close to the spear that is going to appeal against - leads me to think that you have been caught in a moment of alert or call. The painting is presented in the frame of the early '900.
