Serigraph on paper. The portfolio of serigraphs, signed, created in 1975 by Andy Warhol, Ladies and Gentlemen " is a series of 10 canvases produced in a limited edition of 125 copies, at the suggestion of Luciano Anselmino, an Italian publisher, On the back of the works are present is the number of the edition that the signature of Andy Warhol, both in pencil: the one here proposed has the No. 51/125, with the signature and the date. The protagonists of this series are the unknown faces of drag queens african-american. Warhol portrays from the neck on their faces, and rich in expressiveness and provocation; the wide brush strokes of color do not respect the profiles of the figures, in going beyond the contour lines, reflect the transgression of the characters. In actual fact Warhol intends to capture with his polaroid camera the combination of the magnificence and solitude of these personalities, between the innocence of a young girl, and the security of a manly man.
