XIX Century - from 1801 to 1900

Brass geodesy graphometer, signed "Stanley London", with compass whose bottom is engraved with a compass rose indicating the 4 cardinal points and a broken bubble level. It has an inverted double diopter, as a goal for the fixed reference point, in the lower part. Another movable diopter with reading nonius in the fixed goniometer, the latter having a scale from 0 to 180° and from 180° to 0, indicated from 10° to 10°, semi-circular shape. Contained in a walnut box.

Early 20th century brass telescope diopter. Alidade composed of a flat rod, called rule, at the ends of which two pinnulae rise hinged; equipped with metric scale, compass, spirit level and distance metric collimator telescope.

Gilded brass semi-circular protractor signed and dated "Richer à Paris/1806" that refears to Jean-Francois Richer.

Gilded brass monocular with extensible bosy; the end is enamelled and decorated with gilded phitomorphic gyrals.

Brass and steel iron scale with spring system; it comes with 3 sets of cup weights; one consisting of six elements, two with houses (the outermost weight in the form of a case with a lid) and with six and five weights respectively. The latter, which is older than the rest of the lot and dates back to the 17th century, is stamped with a chalice on the outer part, while each of the inner weights has a triangle within which a six-pointed star is inscribed.

Smith Royal Exchange London

Smith Royal Exchange London brass and mahogany four-lenght telescope. It shows light signs of wear. It can be dated back between 1811 and 1825 since the Smith's optics activity remained at the Royal Exchange from its beginning in 1811 until the end of 1825.

J. H. Steward 406 Strand London

Brass laboratory microscope, J. H. Steward, 406 Strand London. The mahogany box containing it has an empty slot and signs of a possible attack on the inside of the lid. The inscription "St. Paul's Churchyard" (active location between c.1867 and 1930) on a component found in the wooden box and the characteristics of the instrument allow us to date it with good probability to the last quarter of the 19th century.
