Description
A Tangita Roya. Oil on aluminum. Signed and dated at the back. Matthias Köster is without a doubt a painter cinephile: his paintings and block the shot missing, the one that does not exist, to allow our image dreamy you project on the screen. The strong influences from the film are derived from the baroque Rome of the "Dolce vita", from the taste of the psycho-surrealist in the relationships sadomasochisti of "Belle de jour", from the crazy inspiration the total work of art "Fitzcarraldo" and "Aguirre", by the ostentation paroxysmal of the "Great feast" and pictorialness swampy in the southern states of America in the films of Russ Meyer. What characterizes, moreover, the artist is the use of aluminum as a pictorial support; this material, which allows transparency and depth, requires speed of execution, and therefore, the paintings are executed in the casting.
