Description
An elegant porcelein centerpiece manufactured by Nanni Valentini in the late 1960s, with dark green decorations. Under the basement the manufacturer's trademark and a paper label are present. 'Arcore Ceramica' was founded in 1967 by Marco and Tina Terenzi, wife of the sculptor and ceramist Nanni Valentini. The object is coming from an important private collection in Milan.

Nanni Valentini (1932 - 1985) wins the prize at the National Competition of Ceramics in Faenza in 1956 and at the Everson Museum of fine Arts in Syracuse in 1958. His art is manifested through landscapes, bricks and faces. He is remembered as one of the greatest exponents of ceramic sculpture and affirms himself in the Milanese area with works and sculptures at the Galleria di Milano by Carla Pellegrini. In 1982 he was awarded a personal room at the 40th Venice Biennale. Many of his works are still published and exhibited in many Italian collections, including the Museo del Novecento in Milan, the Civic Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Varese, the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation in Milan, the GAM in Turin, and Modena. the Civic Gallery and the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Faenza.Production: Arcore Ceramica
