Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione, follower of. Despite not having Grechetto's writing skills, the author of this canvas looked definitely at his examples which were common during 1600. The painting makes reference to Castiglione's education, which took place between Rome and Genoa. It effectively depicts a herd and some figures similar to those by Jacopo Bassano (a very famous author in Genoese collections) in a similar Poussin landscape, where some wonderful classical reenactments emerge. The painting was restored and relined and it is presented in an adjusted frame dating back to the 1800. Manufactured in Italy, Genoese School.
