Description
Egg tempera on wood, gold ground. Christ at the Center, with his mother on his right and St John the Baptist at his left, both in the attitude of supplication, constitute the iconographic form said Deesis (i.e. prayer), signifying the meaning of prayer of intercession of the Saints turned to Christ on his return at the end of time. The Deesis is, in Byzantine-Slavic rite, the ideal Center of the iconostasis. Accompanied by certificate of authenticity with picture.
