Walnut sideboard with front decorated in a band under the top with small architectural shelves, 3 drawers decorated with parallelepiped carvings and 2 doors underneath decorated with geometric carvings typical of the region. On the top there is an owl's beak frame.

Northern Italy, 1877

Steelyard scale in solid iron and bronze with a maximum capacity of 252 kilograms. Graduated rod with square section. It has wrought iron hooks in the shape of fantastic animals, shaped gilt bronze plates and a wrought iron and bronze weight. On the rod and on the weight there is a stamp and engraved brand of the artisan producer. Absence of chains. Coeval fir wooden case.

Italy, Second Quarter XIX Century

Ancient safe from the restoration period with internal walnut structure and iron cladding decorated with studs, Italy second quarter of the 19th century. Front with door decorated with lozenge elements and applied faces in classic bronze style; Steel door lock mechanism embellished with rosettes, leafy frets and engraved phytomorphic elements. Interior equipped with document compartments, six drawers, pair of shaped shelves and compartment located in the lower section, the latter hidden under a folding door with lock. Keys present. Small shortcomings.

Europe, Mid XVII Century

Small wooden travel box covered with iron foil straps fixed with small studs. The metal bands are adorned with a decoration of vegetal racemes with flowers, made in embossed and burin. Between the metal plates the casket is covered in worked leather and features a Greek decoration and vegetal motifs. Interior covered in fabric.

China, Late XIX Century

Porcelain stool, richly decorated on the entire surface with a dragon and a phoenix within circular reserves on a continuous background of meanders and frets. Various decorative bands interspersed with reserves with plants and fruit embellish the upper edge and the seat.

Japan XIX Century

Pair of refined candle holders with evocative porcelain subjects mounted on burnished and gilded bronze garden seats. The two "Erxian"brothers of Chinese origin but replicated in the Hirado factories in the 19th century hold candle holders in the form of plants with flowering branches. The bronze settings were most likely made in Europe.

Ceiling lamp, 7 lights in enamelled aluminium, brass and glass.

Martyrdom of the Franciscans in Nagasaki

Oil painting on canvas. The work is a faithful copy of the homonymous masterpiece by Tanzio da Varallo (1580-82 /1633), created by the painter from Valsesia for the Franciscan convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Varallo, and currently preserved at the Pinacoteca di Brera. The painting depicts the martyrdom which occurred in 1597 in Nagasaki of twenty-three Franciscan friars, who were subsequently beatified in 1627, a date which allows us to place the work in the last years of the artist's activity. Tanzio da Varallo was probably inspired for its creation by the text "Life and exploits of the Martyrs of Japan" by the Spanish Franciscan Marcello di Ribadeneira; of the Brera painting we know a partial preparatory drawing (preserved in the Pinacoteca di Varallo), a sanguine drawing published by Testori (1964) and a canvas (from a private collection in Borgosesia) published by Ferro. The replica proposed here is faithful to the original, even in size, only a few centimeters lower in height, probably lost during the re-lining of the work. Although it is a copy of notable quality, where in particular the richness of highlights stands out which stand out on the warmer and darker tones of the flesh tones, compared to the original one notices a lower fineness of execution, a tendency towards simplification and a pathetic accentuation, which they testify to the hand of a copyist concerned with reproducing the model in every detail, without granting himself any license. Furthermore, this copyist seems to have been very familiar with Tanzio's style, to the point of even perfectly imitating his hooked hands. One can therefore think of a pupil of Tanzio or of his workshop (which was continued by his brother Melchiorre upon Tanzio's death), or of an artist who saw and appreciated his works, such as for example Pietro Francesco Gianoli, who worked above all in churches in Valsesia and in the Novara area and of which other replicas of works by Tanzio da Varallo are known, such as David with the head of Goliath. Furthermore, since the work presented here, before being acquired by a private collector, remained located for centuries in a Franciscan convent in Lombardy, it is plausible that it is a copy of that of Tanzio commissioned by the Order itself, for another monastery, by a painter who was stylistically close to Tanzio and could look to the original. The painting has been relined and restored. It is presented in a late 19th-early 20th century setting.

Parma Mid 18th century

Baroque double body sideboard, supported by carved shelf feet, in the lower part it has four doors with tiles, also in the upper part there are four degrees doors, here decorated with characteristic tiles. Entirely lacquered in blue.

Japan, Meiji Era 1890 ca

Large polylobed cloisonné enamel plate decorated with multiple concentric orders. A delicate composition of flowers and birds decorate the central part, all in the style of Namikawa Yasuyuki.

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Pair of neoclassical consoles from Piacenza, supported by truncated pyramidal legs ending with pear-shaped feet, in the upper part they are tightened by collars. Walnut.

Central Italy, Third Quarter XVIII Century

Antique frame in carved and gilded linden wood, central Italy, third quarter of the 18th century. Richly carved with vine leaves and bunches of grapes; in the top section it has a mobile flagpole decorated at the ends with pine cone-shaped plant elements.

Emilia Half XVIII Century

Group of four Baroque mirrors carved with scrolls and floral motifs, entirely gilded with leaf; the mercury mirrors (one broken) are etched, with figures of classical divinities.

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Marie Theresa chandelier with 12 lights, dating back to the end of the 18th century. Iron branches, the supporting ones are covered in glass, the bobeches are in cast bronze. The chandelier is adorned with bevelled glass pendants and adorned with different motifs, alternating between them on the different floors. The central column was probably added in the 19th century.

Charles Table

Console from the Charles X period, made of walnut with maple inlays, uprights with opposing volutes rest on a base supported by curly feet, in the bottom an opening door gives access to some compartments. The whole surface is inlaid with phytomorphic motifs; white marble top.
