Milan, Early XX Century

Art Nouveau cupboard "Fabbrica italiana di mobili" of which there is a label on another piece of furniture belonging to the same piece of furniture, a company owned by Carlo Zen who assumed this company name starting from 1905, with headquarters in via Bixio in Milan; starting from this date the artistic direction was entrusted to the Sicchirollo brothers who, alongside a luxurious production, started a production of simpler and more functional furniture. With two doors, concealing a three-drawer chest of drawers inside, a further drawer is present in the under-counter band; There is a small splashback on the top. In mahogany, the interiors are in oak, with handles, vents and inserts in bronze worked with leaf and fruit motifs.

Gilt bronze fireplace clock with leaf scroll decorations, garlands and vegetal motifs, surmounted by a female figure depicting the agricultural allegory of the harvest. Enamelled metal display with Roman numeral hours. Mechanism marked Samuel Marti & C.ie Medaille de Bronze.

Pure Silk

Pure silk scarf depicting the royal lottery, a gambling game popular in Italy in the eighteenth century, composed of various boxes representing various subjects or landscapes. The scarf is in good condition, it has a very slight mark and a small flaw in the yarn, almost imperceptible.

Ico Olivetti typewriter with case. Born from an idea by Adriano Olivetti and Gino Levi Martinoli, head of the Projects and Studies Office founded in 1929, the Olivetti MP1 was physically designed in 1932 by Riccardo Levi, with designs by Aldo and Adriano Magnelli. Olivetti's first portable typewriter, also known as the ICO model. It was produced between 1932 and 1950 when it was replaced by the Olivetti Lettera 22.

Neo-Renaissance sideboard in carved walnut, Italy, late 19th century. Front with pair of drawers in the band and two doors. Decorated with masks, spirals and leaf curls and a pair of pine Telamons, the latter acting as a pilaster. Walnut and poplar interior.

Italy, Mid XX Century ca.

Group of six silver cups with turned stems. The inside of the cups is in silver vermeil. Silver marks engraved on the edge. 700 grams. The French term vermeil indicates a variety of gilded silver. The characteristics required for this material are a sterling silver base, covered in at least 10 carat gold plating and at least 1 and a half microns thick. However, the use of 14-carat gold, with higher thicknesses, is common. The chemical affinity between silver and gold gives the plating good resistance qualities. Currently plating is obtained by electrolysis. Originally, when this process was introduced in France, in the mid-eighteenth century, fire gilding was carried out. Plating allows you to avoid problems related to the oxidation of silver. Vermeil, being more expensive than silver, is a material used to make valuable objects (jewellery, medals, fountain pens, cutlery, toilet sets, watches, coolers, snuff boxes, travel toiletries, etc.). In fact, its cost is intermediate between that of the two elements that constitute it.

Wallet-shaped table made with antique wood, 20th century France. Poplar top with book opening, drawer in the band, turned legs. Poplar and fir interior.

Cartier scarf in pure silk preserved in the original box. The background is electric blue with a collection of the Maison's brooches drawn: the most representative models of the jewelery are in fact reproduced in the vintage Must de Cartier scarves. The conditions are perfect.

Grapes, figs, pomegranates and peaches on a capital

Oil on canvas. Signed ‘Max. PF.' on the upper frame of the capital. The still life consists of grapes, pomegranate and peaches placed on a capital, there is also a silver tray in the composition; in the background is a landscape with trees and ruins, on the left is a glimpse of a cerulean sky, barely veiled by clouds. Maximilian Pfeiler made a name for himself with his still lifes in which he placed an architectural fragment in the background of the flowers and fruit, already introducing the taste for ancient ruins that was to become fully established in the 18th century. The painting has been retouched and restored (minor repainting). It is presented in a frame.
