Italy Second Half of the 18th Century

Majolica plate with lobed rim. In the center of the plate a group of turreted buildings rises from an island of land with plants; the background is crossed by glazes representing the sky. Along the frame decoration with leafy sprigs that emerge from the perimeter.

Oil on canvas, applied to a shaped wooden panel. The panel is part of a series depicting episodes of the Gospel, centered on the life of Mary and Jesus; the characters are in fact depicted with the same appearance in the different scenes. Here Jesus is depicted who, while in agony in the Garden of Olives, receives the chalice from an angel, symbol of the Passion he is about to face, of the blood he is about to shed. The wooden shape is framed in contemporary gilded strips.

Piedmontese Louis XVI chest of drawers in pear wood, curved front with four drawers, inlays and fillets in maple and walnut along the entire surface. Large scene of the Nativity, which develops on two crossed lines: a vertical dimension centered on the architectural structure in bricks and straw, the stable that gave shelter to the family of Nazareth, over which the angels hover announcing the divine glory; horizontal dimension in the lower half, composed of a multitude of figures: in the center the Holy Family, on the two sides the shepherds who go to honor the Child, bringing their simple gifts in nature. Of simple and popular taste, the scene is placed on a poorly defined background. The painting has been restored and relined, but still has large losses of colour. In frame.

Still Life with Fruit and Game 1929

Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower left. further signature and date on the back. Alfio Paolo Graziani chose the faithful transposition of reality onto his canvases, creating almost hyper-realistic compositions due to the precision in reproducing the various materials and surfaces, as well as the effects of the light incident on them. Nicknamed "Prince of Flowers" for his abundant production of floral compositions, he also created landscapes, portraits and still lifes. In his still lifes, as is clearly evident in this work, the presence of grapes is recurring, which allows the play of light on the individual grapes, as well as the presence of elements relating to hunting, both prey and tools. The work is presented in a frame.
