Pastels and collage on paper. At the bottom right are the character's signature and name. On the back there is a label from the Il Vicolo art gallery in Milan. The eclectic activity of Emanuele Luzzati, illustrator, set designer, costume designer, decorator, master of every applied art, was extraordinary; he was also twice nominated for an Academy Award for two animated films. Interpreter of a skilled and cultured figurative culture, capable of masterfully using all sorts of materials (from terracotta to enamel, from wool weaving for tapestries to engraving on different supports, to collages of composite papers and fabrics) to construct sketches of scenes, costumes, naval displays, thanks to the richness of his fantastic world, the immediacy and expressiveness of his very personal style, Luzzati was one of the most loved and admired artists of our time. The sketch is presented in a frame.

France, Third Quarter XIX Century

Napoleon III chandelier with eighteen lights arranged in a double order, France, third quarter of the 19th century. Structure in gilded bronze, characterized in the central shaft by the presence of parts in green glazed ceramic; the golden bronze is characterized by the alternation of highlighted portions with opaque portions, thus creating reflections that amplify its brightness. On a decorative level, eclecticism dominates, finding both elements of clear rococo taste, particularly in the moving structure composed of curls, leafy volutes and ornamental motifs with a calligraphic character, and elements derived from the classical world, such as floral festoons, rosettes, capitals and masks. At the apex, placed on a bed of sloping leaves, a pineapple. Bobeches in cut crystal, one of which has been replaced and others are broken. It has defects in the gilding.

Antique Baroque Coat of Arms Pasqui Poplar Florence XVIII Century

Florence, Early XVIII Century

Large baroque coat of arms enclosed within a crumpled box, made of poplar painted in polychrome and partially gilded, Florence, early 18th century. The crumpled piece is characterized by a symmetrical design composed of volutes of strong architectural style and is surmounted by a mask placed within leafy elements in the form of wings, while in the lower section it presents a laurel festoon which, developing from the sides, ends up serve as a background. Lambrecchini, bows with galls and a rosette-shaped button further adorn the crumpled. In the centre, placed within a shield composed of curls, stands the insignia of the Pasqui family ("D'azzurro, alla faith di complexion, [...], surmounted by an eight-pointed gold star"), flanked by a red and gold bandit. Gold is used both to create some of the decorations and to define the profile of curls and volutes, helping to give the coat of arms a three-dimensional perspective effect (trompe-l'oeil). Restorations and touch-ups in color. The Pasqui family is a very ancient family of Tuscan origins, which since 1200 has figured in the roles of the Santo Spirito district of Florence, where it had a stable residence until 1300. It was also ascribed to Florentine citizenship in 1606.
