Italy First Half 20th Century

Graniglia base for garden statue, Italy, first half of the 20th century.

Oil on canvas. The child, future King Charles II of Spain (1661 -1700), is depicted here still as an archduke, therefore before the age of four, the age at which, upon the death of his father, he became king, albeit with the regency of his mother Mariana of Austria. The child wears the Order of the Golden Fleece around his neck and holds a sceptre in his hand. The portrait, restored and relined, is presented in a valuable 17th-century box frame (estimated value alone €1100), in carved and gilded wood (slight loss of gilding).

Oil on canvas. French school of the early 1900s. At the bottom right the signature Carlo Rossi, on the left the title in French ("Duels et enlèvement"). The scene, which recalls the narrative of the "Cloak and sword" genre, sees a gentleman in an elegant doublet dueling with a group of men, who are meanwhile trying to take away his lady by force. The scene is set in the street of a village with Nordic-style houses. The painter Carlo Rossi was active in France at the end of the 19th century, as can be seen from another of his works of the same genre, sold at auction in Tours. The painting is presented in a period frame.

Italy, Mid XIX Century

Round Louis Philippe table in walnut, Italy, mid-19th century. Top with drawer and fake drawer in the band, faceted base decorated in the lower section with leaf motifs. Resting on an octagonal base supported by four legs composed of carved "C" volutes. Fir interior.

Oil on panel. Venetian school of the late 19th century. Signed Carlini on the lower left. Moving family scene, with the fisherman just landed embracing his family - wife, mother, children and dog! - who have come to welcome him, while his colleagues unload the catch and arrange the nets. The colors are intense, especially the earthy ones of the figures, the sand and the boat, which contrast with the blue of the sky and the sea. The painting is presented in a period frame.

France Early 19th Century

Walnut and cherry hinged table, France, early 19th century. Drawer in the band, turned legs connected by crosspieces. Equipped with a pair of concealed uprights on each side, which act as a support for the opening of the hinges. Oak interior.

Piedmontese Louis XVI chest of drawers in pear wood, curved front with four drawers, inlays and fillets in maple and walnut along the entire surface.
