Italy XVI - First Half XVII Century

Small Mannerist frame in ebony with commissary marble, Italy 16th - first half 17th century. Molded perimeter with protruding sections at the corners, 4 reserves in violet stain slab marble, molded octagonal frame placed in the center originally decorated with 4 small turned elements on the sides, 2 present with lacks while 2 completely absent, oval light. Restoration interventions of the late nineteenth century, added the oak bottom and replaced some ebony frames.

Sideboard with a semi-circular front. Supported by four truncated pyramid shaped uprights with vase-shaped feet, it has a narrow under the top drawer in the middle part, while there are two more thin drawers on the sides, under which there are two larger service drawers, on the corners there are two decorated doors that imitate the front of the drawers. Mahogany with mahogany feather banded veneer in the front, with maple and ebony threading, a carved maple reserve decorates the uprights; the drawers and the doors are enriched with an ebony thread on the edges, as well as the border of the mahogany head of the top; the top is a single mahogany board. The handles are gilded bronze pendants with a central rosette. On the back of the top there are inserts for the fastening of the brass beams that were supposed to hold the lights and other service equipment.

Paris Third Quarter of the 19th Century

Napoleon III two-door sideboard, made by the cabinetmaker Georges-Alphonse-Bonifacio Monbro. Structure in ebony veneered oak, embellished with semi-precious stones and gilded bronzes. White marble top arranged within the edge, front with two doors decorated with reserves with vases of flowers and fruit made of stones in the centre, uprights at forty-five degrees, bracket feet. The bronzes, chiseled and gilded, portray leafy friezes, phytomorphic elements, godrons, rosettes, masks and volutes. The pilasters of the uprights are also made of gilded bronze, decorated with bunches and grape leaves and culminating with a caryatid and a telamon. Interior doors veneered in mahogany. Stamped in several parts on the hull and on the bronzes. Restorations and replacements.

Living room made of richly carved ebony composed of a pair of chairs, a writing desk, a pair of armchairs and a sofa decorated with masks, winged anthropomorphic figures and pinnacles in neo-Gothic style. "Peters Genoa"branding inside the desk drawers. The coat of arms of the Durazzo family is carved on the armchairs and sofa. The furniture is published by Antonella Rathschuler in Henry Thomas Peters and the furniture industry in the nineteenth century. Antonella Rathschuler herself has edited an analytical description.

Lombardy, XIX Century

Charles X fireplace entirely veneered in elm root, Lombardy, third decade of the 19th century. Attributable to the production of Paolo Moschini, a skilled inlayer and cabinetmaker active between Soncino, his hometown, and Milan in the first half of the nineteenth century. Front with architrave and projecting plinths, connected by double columns finely fluted and embellished with gilded wooden capitals, the upper ones of which are carved with frets and acanthus leaves. Base and architrave edges threaded in amaranth, threaded column profiles in ebony. Central mercury mirror placed within the frame.
