Description : Scorcio montano
Large oil on canvas by Napoleone Luigi Grady, mountain glimpse. Signed on the lower right and localized 'Chiesa'. It is probably a hamlet of Chiesa Valmalenco (Italy). After a first phase of his career in which he mainly devoted himself to paintings of figures and portraits, Grady considered such works too close to an academic research and decided to devote himself to landscapes. He often visited the Ligurian seaside as the valleys between Lombardy and Piedmont, from Val Cuvia to Valsesia up to Val Malenco, recording the glimpses and focusing on the picturesque, with huts and barefooted shepherdesses, as in this work. Repair signs on the back. Presented in a contemporary frame. Early 20th Century.
