Oil on canvas. The depicted village deployed on different islets is livened up by many figures outside their typically Flemish houses along with many boatmen. The atmosphere and the sun light that breaks the clouds recall a 'stillness after the storm', which is given also by the uprooted and broken trunk (maybe damaged by a lightning) in foreground. Restored and relined, it is presented in a beautiful Baroque gilded frame. 17th-18th century.
