Description : Paesaggio con castello e figure

Tempera on canvas. The painting depicts a castle similar to that of Torrechiara, castle of the 15th century in Val di Parma. The castle is situated on the top of a rocky panoramic hill like the one depicted. On the hill leading to the castle there are some wanderers with carts and a donkey. At the foot of the rocky hill there is a plain, blurred in the background. Painted with fast brush strokes, the painting reflects the artist's good skills who is perfectly able to depict the details of the fortress and the figures. Presented in gilded frame of late 1800s.
