Description : Scena agreste

Oil painting on canvas. The scene is set within a wide and barren landscape and depicts a group of figures from behind among which the female one dressed in red stands out. She is on horseback next to a shepherd on foot and some animals. The woman is pointing at something with her arm addressing the shepherd as if she was asking for directions. The painting is presented in gilded frame of the late 1800s. On the back, paper label belonging to a restorer in London. 18th century.
