Description

Oil on canvas. Signed at the bottom right. Another signature with title and date on the back. Delicate and calm rapresentation of a paesant maternity with a royal appearance, nearly sacral. GIan Giacomo dal Forno was a painter, sculptor, medallist and decorator, an artist born in Catania and artistically trained in Milan where he taught for several years at the art schools; thanks to his art pieces he got several awards. His painting had been defined as "elaborated of matter, delicate of tones"; his images full of poetry nearly fantastic, were made elegant and spontanous throught an harmonious balance of few chosen tones. Displayed in frame.
