The portrait of the young woman, who may be mourning - the black dress, only softened by a small rose and a simple necklace, with the mournful expression a that-, is inserted on a wide landscape background, that creates an entirely light blue background for the figure, created by the colours of the sky, the river and the distant mountains. The painting is presented in a gilded coeval frame, with flower decors on the corners.
