Description : Grande paesaggio con fiume

Oil on canvas. Signed Dossi at the bottom left. The pictorical technique recalls Ivan Karpoff's production (1898-1970), russian painter that since 1925 studied and worked in Milan using Dossi as nickname. The artist was appreciated for his painting oriented to Italian impressionistic verismo of late 19th century and was also known for his landscapes and portraits. In his production Kafpoff was able transfuse inside italian glimpses the sensitivity of the slavic art; he often placed typical russian elements that express nostalgia for the homeland to where he never came back. The painting is displayed in frame.
