Mixed media on paper. At the bottom right you will find the signature and the title. Pietro Morando was born in Alessandria, where he lived all his life, although he attended Turin and Milan for his artistic training, and made long trips to France and overseas. His love for drawing led him to produce numerous works, even using the miserable means of luck that the First World War allowed him: he thus created tragic war drawings (almost a reportage). For decades he frequented the Milanese studio of Carlo Carrà, with whom he shares, as well as friendship, also comparisons and cultural exchanges in the field of painting. It stands out for its simple and incisive style and intense color and decisive features, with which it gives strength and life, but also poetry, to its subjects, almost always the poor people, porters and peasants, as well as glimpses of his city and Monferrato countryside. Work presented in frame.
