Description : Sacra famiglia

Mixed media on paper. Below on the right there is the signature Maddalena Molino and the date 1888. The three figures of the Holy Family are dressed in traditional clothes but inserted in a nineteenth-century residential context; Mary holding the Baby Jesus in her arms busy putting the stem of the red flower in her mouth (symbol of the Passion), is turning the covers of the cradle upside down; Joseph is sitting by the window reading, although his gaze is directed towards the scene inside the room. Overall, the sacred representation is pleasant and serene, in its light concreteness. The painting is presented in a coeval gilt frame.
