Northern Italy Early 18th Century

Baroque chair in carved walnut, northern Italy, early 18th century. Back and seat in leather worked with non-coeval vegetal motifs, held in place by brass studs. Front carved folder replaced. One of the rear legs has a restoration.

Vintage space-ace type floor lamp in the style of Carlo Nason with double chromed metal structure enclosed in curved and wrought glass. In good general condition, it has some imperfections on the chrome part visible in the photo.

Tallboy supported by carved shelf feet, in the lower body it has three drawers plus the same number in the upper body, surmounted by two other small side-by-side drawers; the uprights of the upper part are at 45 ° and carved with a tapered pattern. Entirely veneered in briar of walnut, it has characteristic vents and handles in gilded brass bronze; oak interior.

Mixed media on cardboard. Signed lower right. On the back there is a cartouche with the title. An original exponent of European Expressionism, Lorenzo Viani was always attracted to the poorest and most derelict, both in his childhood and in his maturity, going so far as to transfer their lives and their human experiences onto the canvas. There are numerous faces of these characters who are rendered with strong chromatic impressions and with a decisive and fast brushstroke, an intense, expressive and at times extremely melancholic painting. The work is presented in a frame.

Italy, Late XIX Century

Neo-Renaissance chest from the end of the 19th century. The structure, which refers to the typology of Renaissance chests, is made of wood covered in painted iron sheet, decorated with embossed plant motifs of clear Art Nouveau taste. Traces of the original color are still visible in some places. The trunk is also externally reinforced with wooden slats, while internally it is covered with contemporary paper. Lock and zips on the front. Small defects in the sheet metal covering.

Italy, XX Century

Rococo style lectern in richly carved and gilded wood, Italy 20th century. The carvings reproduce the typical rocaille-style motifs of the mid-eighteenth century, including curls, leafy elements, "C"-shaped volutes and ripples that recall sea foam. Adjustable in height. Deficiencies in the gilding. The bottom section needs cleaning.

Oil painting on canvas. Bottom right signed Borella and dated 1894. It is probably Rafael Borella (1874 -1953), a painter born and trained in Milan but then moved to Uruguay. His first Italian production includes Venetian and Val d'Aosta landscapes. This painting, which offers a mountain view, with meadows crossed by a stream near which a fisherman sits. The scene could therefore be a youthful production by Borella, suited to him in terms of subject and style. The work is presented in a contemporary frame.

20th Century / 1901 - 2000

Pair of consoles, supported by uprights of which the front ones are moved in a curl, have a pair of drawers placed in the band under the top.
