Description : Cristo in casa di Marta e Maria

Oil on canvas, attributed to the school of Jacopo de Negreto, better known as 'Palma il Vecchio' (1480-1528). The scene depicts Christ, accompanied by the apostles, while, in Lazarus' house, invites Martha to take Mary's example. Recognisable on the left, Lazarus, supported by a young black servant. Among the Apostles Peter, John and Judas. The effective rendering of the faces of Christ and Mary leads us to relate this work of art directly to the workshop of 'Palma il Vecchio'. We clearly notice an afterthought on Mary's face, emerged becasue of the wear. Brown colors partially oxidized.
