Description : Ritratto di fanciullo
A life-size portrait of a boy in a black dress and white stockings, in the style of the Spanish nobles of the mid-seventeenth century. in the left hand the child holds two precious tulips and in the other a hat. Behind it, a gushing fountain and a composition of colorful flowers. The painting has already been attributed previously to Juan Bautista Martinez del Mazo (1612 -1667), a painter son-in-law of Velazquez whose style was based on and who made numerous portraits. The painting was probably part of a portrait composition. Restored and relined.
